Swiss-German Inhalers

Decorative inhaler, probably from the beginning of the 20th century. 23 cm high, brass. With a flame from a wick water is heated in the reservoir above. The steam passes through the horizontal pipe and flows into a Venturi nozzle. This sucks the inhalation solution from the tin container and vaporises it. On the right there is a horizontal handle with which the patients hold the device in front of their faces in order to inhale the vapour. Two inhalers from Switzerland, on the left with handle, on the right a height-adjustable inhalation device with stand. Two inhalers with handles which were often used in Swiss households. Elegant inhaler for the more affluent. The inhalation solution is located under the cover on the left. Above the wick there are winding tubes which were heated. The suctioned and then vaporised inhalation solution came out at the top right at the red protrusion.
This inhaler looks like a jewel case when closed. Inhaler with travel case. Inhaler with wooden base and handle. Inhaler from the German speaking regions.
